Description:
Z-Pro-Pro-OH is an inhibitor of serine protease that has been shown to inhibit the activity of bacterial enzymes such as chymotrypsin and trypsin. It is effective against a wide range of bacterial proteases, including those from Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Z-Pro-Pro-OH inhibits the activity of serine proteases by binding to the active site. The inhibition potency is dependent on the amino acid composition of the enzyme substrate. This compound also has an optimum pH in which it is most active (pH 6).
