Description:
Nitazoxanide-d4 is an antiviral agent that inhibits the growth of g. lamblia and other parasites by inhibiting their energy metabolism. It has been shown to inhibit the production of ATP in helminths, which leads to a decrease in motility and viability, as well as blocking replication. Nitazoxanide-d4 also inhibits the activity of c. parvum and viruses by binding to the enzyme oxidoreductase. Nitazoxanide-d4 modulates transfer factors, which may be related to its effect on giardia. The drug can be metabolized into carboxylic esters with a benzamide moiety, which have been shown to have broad-spectrum antibacterial effects against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
